after “If music be the food of love”

The two fragments making up this piece both quote phrases from Henry Purcell’s If music be the food of love (Z 379), set to words by Colonel Herve Heveningham.

The pre-recorded sounds are a combination of recordings of Tristan Hambleton performing the original work, carried out with the help of Dan Samsa, and the composer playing on a piano at his home.
